Summary: Just returned from an incredible 3 weeks at this property. The location was idyllic surrounded by vines and nature. The house was spotless and had plenty of room for the family. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Great location to visit the area and within an easy drive of Bezzier Cap D’agde airport. The large supermarket a few minutes away made life very easy. Communication was excellent and instructions on checking in were clear. Richard and Shirley were fantastic with cleaning the pool 3 times a week and changing bedding and towels weekly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. All in all I would highly recommend a visit.

Summary: We stayed at the property in August (group of 10 friends in late 20s). It is is located in a great location. The nearest village, Coursan, is a 20-25 minute walk from the house and there are two large supermarkets in Coursan that have everything you need. There isn't anything to do in Coursan but the nearby town of Narbonne has lots to do and is very pretty. You can travel to Narbonne by bus or train but they do not run often. A taxi from the Narbonne train station to the house costs around 20 to 30 Euros. You can stay at the property without a car using the options mentioned above but it is definitely easier (and saves a lot of time) to have a car, which we did. The house itself is an old farmhouse. It is quite large so it's very spacious. The bedrooms are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. We cooked most nights we stayed there. There is no air conditioning but each bedroom has a fan and the windows have mosquito nets that can be drawn up and down. We were worried about the fact there was no air conditioning (the temperature reached 35 degrees when we were there) but it turned out to be absolutely fine with the fan and ability to leave the windows open. Given the house is in rural location bugs are to be expected but they weren't that bad in the evening. We sat outside every night and we did get bitten by mosquitos (despite spraying repellent on our bodies) but it was not overwhelming. The pool and pool area are great. The pool is a good size and there is lots of space around the pool to relax. There were enough deck chairs for all of us and there were padded covers for the deck chairs to make them more comfortable. The pool area also has lights so it can be lit up in the evening, which created a lovely atmosphere. As there are no neighbours you don't need to worry about making too much noise. There is also a table tennis table and a small pool table, which were great additions to the property. I corresponded with the owner, Philip, before our trip who was very helpful and responded quickly. A booklet was also issued to myself before our visit which contained a lot of detail regarding the property and surrounding area. It was very useful to have and made life much easier when staying at the property. Overall, this property would be great for any group. You can stay there without a car but it is certainly easier with a car.

Summary: This is a lovely house down a quite lane. The property is spacious and is the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Communication with the owner and the agents was easy and any questions were promptly dealt with. On arrival we were met by Julie who showed us around then left us to settle in. Mark came later in the week to clean and check the pool, both were helpful and were able to advise us on the area and most importantly the wine. It took us around 30 minutes to walk to the super u, or there is a spar in the town which is nearer, with an excellent butchers for the BBQ meat. The house is in an ideal location to visit different places. We had a short trip out to Barges 25 mins away and found an amazing restaurant in the village square, we returned that evening for dinner the food was superb and very reasonably priced. We had a lovely holiday and as the house is central we were able to visit places and then return for time in the pool. One thing, it would be nice to have a sun shade around the pool, it wasn’t too hot when we went but I think in August it might be too much for some, but you don’t necessarily want to sit by the house under the shade on your own. We would certainly return. Thank you so much for renting out your lovely home

Summary: Had a fantastic time spending two weeks in August at Domaine de Favette. Perfect if you are seeking somewhere to truly unwind in an authentic, spacious environment. Our party comprised of four adults and four young children. The house was more than big enough for us all. We enjoyed swimming in the large private pool and making use of both the fixed and the free-standing oil drum style bbq. The views over the vineyard are a treat to wake up to and we enjoying relaxing by them on an evening whilst barbecuing or playing ping pong. The property has everything you need and should you want to watch TV, the one in the lounge has been upgraded to a flat screen as opposed to the one in the pics. The location was great for exploring the area. Good local butchers at the SPAR in Coursan. He makes his own sausages and has a good selection of cuts. We also loved Les Halles in Narbonne - fun experience eating at Chez Bebelle!! Roquebrun - very pretty village with beach on a river; rented a boat and had delicious food at La Cave Saint-Martin. Gruissan - Enjoyed the seafood at Huitres et compagnie and both beaches. La Franqui - great beaches, great vibe. Terra vinea - wine cave. Good on a rainy day (we only had the one). We also got out to Carcassonne, Beziers, Seté and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Domaine de Favette as the perfect base to explore, relax or spend quality family time from. Mark and Julie were great, attentive and quick to support with any tips and advise.

Summary: Lovely spacious converted farmhouse by the river Aude surrounded by vineyards. Very quiet rural setting away from any other buildings - ideal if you want peace and quiet. You need a car to get anywhere but well placed for surrounding towns and beaches only 25 mins away. The house had a very French feel to it - this is no modern identikit villa - it has a great charm to it with all the mod cons you need. Lovely large pool which we used just about all the time.

Summary: We stayed in Domaine La Favette for a wonderful two weeks at the end of June, beginning of July. The house was perfect and the photos do not lie. The house was well equipped and had pretty much everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There was loads of space in the house as well as outside. The pool area had plenty of room for sun loungers and chairs as well as a small pool house with a fridge for keeping the drinks cold. The pool, which was a good size, provided a welcome break from some of the really hot days we had. There was a large garage attached to the house with a BBQ, table tennis table and a few bikes. We did manage to get some of the bikes working but they definitely need updating. The house is very quiet and has vineyards one side and the river Aude on the other. We really enjoyed walking along the raised riverbank and watching the local wildlife. We also managed to cycle to the Canal de la Robine which links the Canal de Midi, via Narbonne to the coast. It was an easy cycle along quiet lanes to the canal and then a nice cycle along the footpath. Coursan is only about a 5 minute drive away and although it’s not very big it has a decent Super U with a 24 hour automated petrol station. There’s also a good boulangerie plus a nice wine shop selling wine en vrac. We only tried the Chardonnay but that was very nice. For local restaurant’s we tried Narbonne, which is about 15 minutes away, and Narbonne plage, about 30 minutes away. Both places had plenty of restaurants to choose from. Narbonne plage is great if you want the beach. We went on several day trips. Carcassonne, which is about an hour away, is probably the main attraction. Closer to the house is the Abbaye De Fontfroide, which is worth a visit on a hot day as its nice and cool inside. There are also quite a few hill top villages near the Abbey. Phillip was really helpful whilst we were booking our holiday and Mark and Julie, the local agents were very welcoming with tips and local knowledge about the area.

Summary: A great house in a very rural location set amongst vineyards. We ( 4 adults and 2 children ( under 10)) had a great week at La Favette. Lots to do in the area be it towns/ villages, historic sites, or just the beach . The kids loved the pool (which was very clean), the local play area and a good quiet stretch of beach which was only 30 minutes away - we had a few visits. In the evening it was nice to walk through the vineyards or along the levee - very relaxing. The house is well appointed and very spacious. Mark is extremely helpful and full of local infomation. Coursan has plenty of shops and a well stocked wine cave. The Chardonnay (well chilled) en vrac is highly recommended.

Summary: La Favette was an ideal house for us- a group of friends. We had a wonderful week of relaxing by the pool, going for walks, eating outside on the terrace and enjoying the weather. We ended up not straying far from the house as the local town had all that we needed to enjoy the holiday. Would love to return to this house as it provided a perfect space for us to enjoy the weather and the peaceful setting. A very memorable and happy holiday for us all!!

Summary: La Favette was a great place for our two-week family get-together, housing ten people with ease. The setting among the vineyards was peaceful and quiet, an ideal place to spend many hours fraternising by the pool. There are lots of interesting places to visit within easy distance, Carcassonne with its walled medieval city, Narbonne has Roman ruins and museum, markets, a wonderful food hall, Cathedral( we were lucky to be able to attend a concert there). Celebrations for Bastille Day included a band and dancing outdoors in the Square. Most of our party enjoyed the 2km walk to Coursan, slightly longer if you take the walk along the levee by the river. Most services are available in Coursan. Mark and Julie were extremely helpful and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area . Jim and Gwen Australia PS Bicycles need to be updated.
